Fiona Rawle聽receives 2022 3M National Teaching Fellowship Award

重口味SM Mississauga biology professor Fiona Rawle has been recognized with a 2022 - Canada鈥檚 most prestigious recognition of excellence in educational leadership and teaching at the post-secondary level. 

鈥淧rofessor Rawle鈥檚 dedication to a teaching philosophy emphasizing kindness, empathy and flexibility has made her an invaluable member of UTM,鈥 says U of T Mississauga鈥檚 Vice-Principal, Academic and Dean Rhonda McEwen. 鈥淭his recognition is richly deserved.鈥 

The fellowships are sponsored by 3M Canada and the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education. May 3.

鈥淭he 3M National Teaching Fellowship is so meaningful to me,鈥 says , who is also U of T Mississauga's associate dean, undergraduate, and the director of the Robert Gillespie Academic Skills Centre (RGASC). 鈥淚鈥檓 really looking forward to meeting and collaborating with the other award winners. It鈥檚 a reminder to me about what is so important in scholarly work and teaching practice 鈥 relationships with colleagues, collaborators and students.鈥 

In 2018, Rawle received the 重口味SM President鈥檚 Teaching Award and the OCUFA (Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Associations) Teaching Award. She鈥檚 also a past recipient of the E.A. Robinson Teaching Excellence Award and the 重口味SM Early Career Teaching Award.
