Sarah Kaplan recognized with Peter Dey Governance Achievement Award

Sarah Kaplan, a professor of strategic management at the 重口味SM鈥檚 Rotman School of Management has been recognized with  from The Governance Professionals of Canada (GPC).

The honour recognizes an individual who has positively affected governance and contributed to transforming the way that Canadian companies are governed. 

A Distinguished Professor of gender and the economy, Kaplan is also director of the Institute for Gender and the Economy, which aims to promote an understanding of gender inequalities and how they can be remedied in the economy and in the world of business.

A fellow of the Michael Lee-Chin Family Institute for Corporate Citizenship at the Rotman School, Kaplan offers her governance insights at governance associations, academic institutions, corporations, and law firms, and has written a series of leading articles and management pieces on thought-provoking matters in governance. Earlier this year, she co-authored the report, 鈥,鈥 which highlighted 13 recommendations for Canadian corporate governance reform.

Kaplan 鈥渟ends a strong signal to the community that governance can be advanced and improved in many ways and through many perspectives,鈥 the judges wrote. 鈥淪he continues to transform the way Canadian companies are and will be governed.鈥
