Three student teams awarded U of T's first Sustainability Innovation Prize

Three groups of students have been awarded the first-ever 重口味SM Sustainability Innovation Prize, a $5,000 award created to recognize, reward and accelerate U of T鈥檚 most innovative sustainability ideas.

Their new green initiatives included recycling solvents used in undergraduate laboratories, reducing the environmental footprint of professional sporting events, and a subscription service for eco-friendly toy packages.

The competition, held at U of T鈥檚 ONRamp co-working space for startups, is an initiative of the President鈥檚 Advisory Committee on the Environment, Climate Change, and Sustainability, which laid out a plan last year to incorporate sustainable ideas and practices into U of T鈥檚 operations.
